About us
Padua Kindergarten is an exclusive, locally owned Kindergarten that offers Peninsula families an alternative to the large businesses which have taken over much of the early childhood industry. Padua embraces a play-based philosophy which encourages respect for the outdoors, the sunshine and rain, gardening and sustainable living. We foster a natural, positive and stimulating learning environment, encouraging creative thinking, budding artistic passions, imaginative play and most importantly, as part of a young person’s journey; embracing and nurturing their developing positive sense of self.
Padua Kindergarten offers an extended hours registered structured Kindergarten program for three and four year olds. Our school readiness program ensures Padua children are ready for the next part of their journey into primary.
Rather than competing, Padua offers a high quality alternative. Padua believes parents to be as much a part of Padua’s journey as their children. Padua has a policy to interview all new families seeking enrolment.
About the director
For owner and director, Jannah Young, Padua is the culmination of a dream which started 15 years ago, when she began working with children. Jannah realised that there was a different way to embrace the ever important journey of the early years.Jannah integrates her personal philosophy of offering an alternative early childhood educational program, with a quality exclusive service, exceptional staff and a holistic approach.
This creates an amazing Kindergarten offering an array of natural experiences and a spiritual energy in which the children can thrive, grow and create.

Kindergarten Program
Through the use of natural materials we deliver a play-based program catering to all children’s levels of development and interests, allowing for a range of possibilities, discussions and explorations of our environment.
We provide all children with the opportunity to make their own choices and judgements, learning and developing to their full potential. We encourage individual children’s experiences and contributions to be shared within the Kindergarten setting, and provide a chance to explore the wider community through a variety of incursions and excursions.
Throughout our Kinder day, we have structured dance/movement sessions, cooking sessions, gardening and gross motor/sport experiences, all carried out on a weekly basis. Different cultures are recognised and appreciated through song, language, movement and a broad range of developmental experiences. Long-term projects, based on the children’s current interests, allow the children a chance to continually revisit their efforts, work collaboratively, and encourage perseverance and commitment.
Read moreAll of the children are responsible in caring for and nurturing the Padua Kindergarten environment – from gardening, recycling, creating and maintaining vegetable gardens, hatching and rearing of our Padua chickens, and above all developing a life-long respect for the environment, themselves and others.
Children enrolled at Padua for our 3 year old program have first preference into our 4 year old Kindergarten for the following year. * Padua is supportive of a 2nd year of 3 or 4 year old kindergarten.

4yr old Kindergarten
Our 4-year-old Kindergarten program ensures that all children are ready for that big step to school the following year – physically, cognitively, socially, spiritually and emotionally. Through attending a long-day Kindergarten program, these children are forming a routine similar to that at school, with a strong focus on independence and responsibility. Our school readiness program and regular communication with local schools, including transition plans, ensures support for both children and parents at this time as well as a smooth transition to school.
Both our registered Kindergarten and 3 year old program runs from 9am – 3:30pm five days a week.
Padua Kindergarten also offers care outside these times at no additional charge.
